Volunteering at Eva Burrell Animal Shelter will be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. Volunteer opportunities abound and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that your time will help many homeless animals get a second chance at life.
Dog Walker – Provides exercise and socialization to shelter dogs.
Kitty Cuddler – Provides petting, grooming and socialization to shelter cats.
Cat Care Volunteer – Assists kennel staff with routine duties, such as feeding and caring for shelter cats and cleaning of cat bays.
Dog Care Volunteer – Assist kennel staff with routine duties, as in feeding and caring for shelter dogs and cleaning of dog runs.
Animal Foster Parents – Provides temporary in-home care to very young or recovering animals. Primarily kittens; occasional puppies; dogs and cats. Requires time commitment and suitable living situation. This will be needed in times of over abundance of animals and not enough room.
Light Maintenance – Miscellaneous light duties to help in maintaining the shelter itself.
Humane Educator – With your own animal companion, visit elementary schools and teach a humane education curriculum.
